In 1997, South Florida Ballet opened it’s doors under the artistic direction of Jennifer Rose. Since then, many of her students have been awarded scholarships and acceptances to study at prestigious ballet schools in North America. Some have attended American Ballet Theatre, School of American Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Pennsylvania Ballet (The Rock School), Houston Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet and the San Francisco Ballet. Jennifer began her ballet training at age six. At age twelve she began her serious training with Martha Mahr, Magda Aunon and Judith Newman. During this time she was accepted to study with the San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet, Houston Ballet and the Milwaukee Ballet professional programs. As a student of the many great local teachers mentioned and schools abroad, she was exposed to the best elements of Cecchetti, Royal Academy of Dance and Vaganova School of Thought. Jennifer graduated Magna Cum Laude from New World School of the Arts, College Division. Upon completion of her BFA, Jennifer accepted an invitation to dance with the Orlando Ballet, known then as Southern Ballet Theatre. Upon her return to Miami, Jennifer was blessed with the birth of her first daughter, Amanda. She has been blessed during these 13 years with her second daughter, Amelia and third child, Tyler. Jennifer knows the importance of continuing her dance education and keeps up by attending Houston Ballet Select
Teachers Seminar, The New York City Dance Alliance and this past February, The Harid Conservatory Workshop.
